Sholeo Lodges

Committed

For a better world, join the movement!

At Sholeo Lodges, every guest is part of the change. Through the “We Care” program from our company, Canarian Hospitality, your stay helps reduce our environmental impact and foster more responsible tourism. Travel with a purpose!

Certifications for a more sustainable environment

Sholeo Lodges Los Gigantes has obtained the Biosphere Sustainable certification. And we continue certifying other Sholeo Lodges accommodations: at Sholeo Lodges Maspalomas we have already obtained the Biosphere certification, another proud step in our commitment to sustainability and respect for the environment.

The 2030 Agenda is a global action plan adopted by UN member states, which includes 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to address issues such as poverty, inequality, and climate change.

These are the SDGs of the 2030 Agenda that we are already addressing at Sholeo Lodges Los Gigantes.

Stay hydrated and reduce your impact.

At our lodges, we provide free water fountains so you can refill your bottle and help reduce plastic waste.

Flexible housekeeping

Every stay at Sholeo Lodges reduces your carbon footprint by up to 1.3 kg of CO2 per night by conserving water, energy, and chemicals.

By choosing best practices, you’re helping to make tourism more sustainable. And if you opt for an extra cleaning, we’ll donate €1 to the Fundación Foresta to help reforest our islands. Less impact, more future.

Energy with Green Flow

Every click on our website leaves a smaller carbon footprint and raises awareness. At Sholeo, our pages are hosted on servers powered by 100% renewable energy. Because sustainable travel begins the moment you start searching for your next adventure.

Reforestation of the Canary Islands' Forests

We actively collaborate with the Fundación Foresta, which is dedicated to restoring, maintaining, and conserving the forests of the Canary Islands. At Sholeo Lodges, we carry out three initiatives to raise funds for the foundation:

  • During our annual Green Friday promotional campaign in November, we donate 1.5% of total sales to the Fundación Foresta. Don’t miss the next one—you’ll be helping to reforest our forests!
  • With every purchase of bottled water, we donate €1 for each bottle sold. You save money, we don’t generate plastic waste, and you also support the foundation.
  • For every additional sustainable cleaning service you request, we’ll donate 1 €. Could it get any more sustainable?
+500,000 Trees Planted
+14 million liters of infiltrated water per year

Sharing Values

Together, we’re better. We form strategic partnerships with brands that share our commitment to the environment and hold the same values as we do. Here are some of our partners.

We believe that every action taken to protect the environment—whether big or small—can go a long way toward creating a better world.

In this case, we’ve partnered with Ocean Born Lifestyle to purchase certified sustainable cotton uniforms for all our teams.

Ocean Beer is a beer brand whose core mission is a commitment to the environment—specifically, the protection and restoration of the ocean.

The result of a project by the Ocean Born Foundation—an international organization whose goal is to mitigate the damage caused by humans to the ocean—is the new Ocean Beer, a beer produced with minimal environmental impact, with proceeds going to organizations dedicated to mitigating climate change with a focus on the ocean.

Since its founding in 2003, Fritz Kola has made a clear commitment to glass and has not produced a single plastic bottle since then.

To drive systemic change in the beverage industry, they have also launched the “Drink From Glass” initiative, which encourages people to adopt a sustainable, resource-conserving mindset when consuming beverages and to avoid plastic waste.
